Mantra, also called as Raasi, is a South Indian actress who has acted in a number of Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada movies.
Her first movie was Grafthar in Hindi. Her debut film in Tamil was Priyam, while her debut film in Telugu was Subakanshalu. She is expected back to make a comeback after 7 years.
Raasi is a South Indian actress, popular for her roles in Telugu movies during the late 90s and early 2000. Her first film was in Telugu, Gokulamlo Seetha (1997). Her Tamil comedy movie Kalyana Galatta (1998). Subhakankshalu (1998) opposite Jagapathi Babu got her fame. She entered into Malayalam movies with Pallavur Devanarayanan in 1999. She appeared in a Bollywood film, Jodidaar in 2000. Also the same year se starred opposite Prabhu Deva in the Tamil movie Doubles. Her last film was in Telugu, Venky (2004).

Raasi was born on 29, July 1980 to father D Venkatesh mother Nagamani in Andhra Pradesh. She has got one brother Vijay Krishna; she got married to Assistant Director Srinivas.
Raasi was introduced in Tamil film “Priyam”. The movie did not fare well at the box office. So she changed her name from Mantra to Raasi when she made her debut in Tollywood with “Shubhakankshalu” starring opposite Jagapathi Babu.
The movie was a big hit and her histrionic talents were well received by the audience. Soon Raasi’s beauty captured attention of the industry and without much efforts she began to get offers in Tollywood.Several movies followed like Gokulamlo Sita and Preyasi Raave. The actress Raasi has acted with all the popular heroes in Tollywood like Balakrishna, Rajashekar, Gopichand and other heroes.
The former child artiste, who played the vamp in Nijam, rose to fame with Subakanshalu. She was labelled ‘traditional’ after Gokulamlo Seetha. But later hits like Snehithulu, Pandagah, Devulu and Gilligajalu proved her mettle as an actress. She also played a snake goddess in Trinethram. When Raasi’s career started taking a nosedive, she took to doing item numbers in Tamil films like Samudram.
