Pranitha (Pranitha Subhash) was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Pranitha won a lot of hearts with her stunning performance in the Telugu romantic movie Baava (2010) playing opposite Siddarth. She appeared in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films.

She leapt into prominence with the Kannada movie Porki with Darshan. After the success of Porki, she refused several offers from Kannada films and became choosy about her projects, before signing the Telugu film Baava opposite Siddharth. She went on to appear in her first Tamil film, Udhayan starring Arulnidhi, with the film opening to mixed reviews in June 2011. Despite the film's commercial failure, Pranitha was signed up for her second Tamil project Saguni opposite Karthi which release in both Tamil and Telugu. She has acted in recently released Kannada film Jarasandha directed by Shashank Raj where in she is casted opposite Vijay. She plays the role of a model in Jarasandha.
